Inspection And Testing

In accordance with current legislation all work equipment must be inspected and tested to ensure the safety of those persons operating or working in the vicinity of the equipment. Industrial mechanical & electrical contractors ltd is able to supply engineers to inspect and test installations throughout the life cycle.

Following the testing of electrical installations customers receive:

• BS7671 Compliant or NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificates
• Periodic Inspection Reports
• Schedule of Test Results
• Photographic Evidence of any defect and departure from IEE Regulations
• Professional advice on frequency and extent of future tests.

Tests are conducted using the latest technology in test instrumentation, and include:

• Continuity of conductors
• Insulation resistance
• Polarity
• Site applied insulation
• Separation of circuits
• Electrode resistance
• Earth fault loop impedance
• Functional earth testing

Portable Appliance Testing:

• PAT is required under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
• 3 levels of testing: user check, formal visual inspection, combined inspection
• Frequency of test depends on nature and use of appliance (6months - 5 years)
• Comprehensive 'PAT' contract includes testing, result listings, appliance labelling and recall service
